In keeping with our mission and in order to meet the growing needs of women and children in our community, we have opened a thrift shop.  The goals of the thrift shop are:

To generate funds to support current and future programs

To provide clothing and household goods at not cost to women and children in need

To provide volunteer and employment oppoortunities in a safe, supportive environment for women wanting to enhance their employment skills

We greatly appreciate the generosity of community members who donate gently used clothing and others goods. 

Donations are aceepted at the rear  of (lane access) 367 - 6th Street from Mondays to Saturday 10:00 am - 4:00pm

We are grateful for all donations we receive.  Items we are not able to use are a cost to us.  Due to quality standards set for our clients, customers, and to keep dumping costs to a minimum, please be aware we may not accept your donations if they are not suitable.  All items must be clean and in usable condtion.

Household Items

Blinds (Venetian or roller), curtain rods, ceiling fans, brooms and mops that are old, carpets that are worn and soiled, carpeting with unfinished edges, cassette tapes, cassette tapeholders and cases, comptuers (ALL due to environmental hazards), containers, plastic (dairy etc), dishes that are chipped or cracked, knives, pots and coffee pots that are burned of scratched, electrical items in need of repair, televisions that are black and white or older floor models, foamies, garden hoses, pillows that are soiled, suitcases with broken zippers or worn edges, typewriters either manual or electric, wire hangers, foot baths

Medical Supplies

Heart and blood pressure monitors, all thermometers, diabetic supplies

Recyclable Items

Cardboard, jars, plastic bottles and used food containers, wine or liquor bottles, scrap (lumer or metal), tires

Furniture

Bookcase headboards, press board furniture, futoms that do not have frames, folding cots, mismatched or soiled mattresses, hide-a-beds, waterbeds, metal spring beds, chairs that are office style or stined, vinyl chairs that are ripped, lawn chairs, that are broken or soiled, including white plastic, furniture that is ripped, stained or requires expert cleaning or repairs, wicker that is broken

Appliances

 Large microwaves (cubby size acceptable), washers, dryers, fridges, stoves, dishwashers, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, chest freezers

Books/Magazines

Binders, encylopedias, magazines older than the current year, numbered sets (unless collectibles), Readers Digest, textbooks

Sporting Equipment

Bikes or tricycles that are rusted, camp stoves, coolers that are rusted or solid plastic, drink bottles or cups that are plastic, golf bags that are old and heavy, golf carts with narrow wheels (wide wheels only), helmets, bike and hockey that are older than  5 years, all helmuts must have CSA sticker, hockey board games, hockey sticks that are worn down, tents with steel poles, war games

Clothing

Used undergarments, clothing that is ripped or stained

Beauty Products

Used beauty products and toiletries, aerosols or sprays of any kind

Baby Items

Car seats that are soiled, carry seats, cribs older than September 1986, incomplete high chairs (must have tray and straps), playpens with large mesh holes, strollers or prams (unless in mint condition), toys that are broken or incomplete, tub seats, walkers, breast pumps

Hazardous Materials

Asbestos and anything that include  asbestos, chemicals (toxic and non-toxic). firearms, ammunitions, explosives, paint, pesticides/insecticides, prescription items, propane tanks

Miscellaneous

BBQs that are rusted or soiled, crutches, electrical wiring, fireplace screens, organs (old heavy floor models), parts for automobiles, bikes and appliances, plumbing fixtures, tiles
