Community Action Program


Comox Valley Transition Society works cooperatively with other agencies and with the community as a whole to raise awareness of issues of violence against women and to improve the quality of life for the Comox Valley familiies.

December 6:

Each year, we organize a Montreal Massacre Memorial for the community.

Prevention of Violence Week:

During the last week of April each year, we organize an awareness event, such as a film festival, art display, or series of workshops.

Education:

We provide training and / or presentations to staff, volunteers, and clients of other agencies and to students of North Island College and local schools.  These are generally on the theme of violence against women, dating violence, healthy relationships and services for women.

Workshops:

We develop and deliver workshops on a variety of topics to community groups, at their request.  We are able to tailor these workshops to meet the stated needs of the groups in question.  Workshops sceduled throughout the year include:
